Since their inception, South African Airways has been renowned for their modern fleet as well as
their dedication to front-line aviation technology.
Their new fleet will be used to service all SAA routes in South Africa as well as regional routes
throughout Southern, West, and East Africa and consists of 11 A319-100, 6 A340-200, 6 A340-300e, 9 A340-600, 6 B747-400 and 17 B737-800's.
South African Airways joined Star Alliance, the world’s largest global airline network, on 10 April 2006. SAA’s membership to the Star Alliance is unique in that it is the only airline based in Africa part of the network. SAA offers the world over 20 destinations into Africa and through this, strives to bring the world to Africa and take Africa to the world.
