||Andorra is an interesting, though somewhat small country in Southwest Europe and is situated in the Pyrenees Mountains between France and Spain.
Being such a mountainous country, building an international airport and runway was never really considered feasible, so Andorra doesn’t have its own airport! This isn’t a major problem though because there are international airports in neighbouring France and Spain which you can get flights to from South Africa. Once you land, there are coach services which drive you into Andorra itself. Having said this, there are plans to build an airport in Andorra so it may only be a matter of time before tourists can arrive directly on flights from South Africa.
The nearest major airport in France is Toulouse, or in Spain it is Barcelona. Both cities are about the same distance from Andorra so which one you choose depends on whether you’d like a stop over first. From Johannesburg flights to Barcelona are available with many of the major airlines and all have one stop. Choose from the likes of Swiss, South African Airways, Lufthansa, TAP, Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways, which all stop in their respective countries before the onward flight to Barcelona. If you prefer to fly to Andorra via Toulouse basically the same airlines offer flights from Johannesburg.
