If you’re looking for lots of specific man-made tourist attractions then a holiday in Cape Coral probably isn’t for you as there’s not much here in the way of museums, family amusements etc. Where Cape Coral does excel is with its canals and opportunities for outdoor recreation, so if you want a holiday where you can combine relaxing days on a beach with those filled with activity, Cape Coral ‘is’ a good place to come for a holiday!
Cape Coral Canals The canals and waterways that Cape Coral is now so famous for only began to be constructed from 1958 onwards. Since that time the extensive system has developed into the largest in the world with more than a staggering 400 miles (640 kilometres) of navigable waterways. This means of course that Cape Coral is the perfect place to come if you enjoy boating as there are hundreds of miles of waterways to explore, all in relatively safety from high currents etc. And all the pathways adjoining the canals means there are countless places to walk, cycle and more along the waterways. Cape Coral Beaches Cape Coral also has plenty of beaches to enjoy when you want a day of relaxation. Enjoy the warm weather and relax on the beach or take part in some other activities such as sea kayaking and other water sports. Lovers Key State Park, and Fort Myers Beach are just two that are in the Cape Coral area. Shopping and Dining in Cape Coral Cape Coral has some great little independent restaurants and stores, and when you want more choice you can easily visit nearby Fort Myers. Here you’ll find the large Edison Mall, the largest shopping mall is this part of Florida, or for an outlet mall experience there’s also Tangers Outlet Mall. |
