There’s a museum here which has been open since the building first opened. Savannah Georgia’s very first city is Savannah, settled in 1733 by British colonists the city still retains much of its historical character and actually features one of the largest historic districts in the US. These old areas are what attract visitors to the city along with the seaside location. Georgia is just one of the 14 states it passes through! Augusta The city of Augusta is probably best known these days as being the home of the Masters golf tournament, but the city is also historically important and has many old buildings, monuments and more to see too. Wildlife A good place to see wildlife and nature is the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. There are swamplands and coastal forests here with the chance to see alligators and other reptiles and amphibians such as turtles, toads, frogs, lizards and snakes, but bird life is also abundant here too, especially wading birds like herons, cranes, egrets and bitterns. |
